Myself (Dan Hendriksen), Lee Whittaker, Coach James Urquhart and Old Fold Manor Golf Operations Manager Nathan Gilpin, along with more than just a cameraman Jordan are making our way around this beautiful Golf de Sables d’Or in Brittany.
Due to poor weather we are only able to get the front 9 holes completed but are hunting the course record in a scramble format.
Golf de Sables d’Or:
The original 9 holes were designed in 1925, when the northeast coast of Cape Fréhel was beginning to attract a clientele of wealthy holidaymakers. In 1991, a further 9 holes were added, and the small course became an 18-hole course perfectly suited to the requirements of modern golfers. The terrain extends over a relatively flat stretch of elevated and well-wooded land and is like a links in character even though it is some distance from the sea. The holes are not overly difficult and have no hidden traps, but provide a challenge for players of all levels. The recently opened clubhouse adds to the pleasant, welcoming atmosphere.
