1st – The hole remains as originally designed in 1887. The deep swale running across the fairway at about 200 yards from the tee is known as ‘The Kitchen’. At one stage in the early 1900’s an experiment was made to play the 1st as a dog legged Par 5, from a tee much closer to the Clubhouse.
