British Open 2023: Adam Scott banks in crazy shot off steep bunker face

News

Other than Brian Harman, the talk of Royal Liverpool this week has been the course’s plethora of deep pot bunkers. In fact, they wreaked so much havoc during Thursday’s first round at the Open that the R&A decided to rake them differently for the rest of the tournament. But they remain a difficult challenge, mainly because of their steep faces. That being said, sometimes those riveted walls can help you.

Take Scottie Scheffler, who caromed one off the face at No. 18 on Friday and saw his golf ball trickle out to tap-in range as he made the cut on the number. And on Sunday, Adam Scott pulled off this neat trick even better on the fourth hole.

Check it out as the Aussie’s golf ball ricochets hard off the face, pops up into the air, lands softly on the green, and rolls right into the hole for an unlikely birdie:

Cue the jokes about “The bank being open on Sunday!” for Scott. What a wild shot.

We’re not sure if Adam actually called bank there, but we’re positive that he was happy with the result.
