Tour pros battling through airlines losing their golf clubs is nothing new. Unfortunately, it’s an unavoidable part of being a professional golfer. But there’s one item that might be even more crucial to a player’s success if he/she doesn’t have great eyesight: contact lenses.
Rob Hudson was without either as he started an important week at PGA Tour Canada Q School. But thanks to the golf staff at Crown Isle Resort, he was able to cobble together a set of rentals and shoot an even-par 72 on Tuesday. And thanks to a special delivery from a local optometrist just before Wednesday’s second round, he was able to do even better.
Hudson fired a bogey-free 67 to jump into a tie for sixth place through 36 holes at the four-round event that will award nine tour cards. Not surprisingly, it helps when you can actually see where you’re hitting a golf ball.
