Bryson DeChambeau shared a photo late Friday of his surgically repaired left hand.
The eight-time PGA Tour winner released a tweet showing a massive incision on the palm of his left hand with a caption saying, “Healing up! Gripped a club today. Can’t hold on to it for long, but getting there!”
The 28-year-old broke a bone in his left hand, an injury that he says was aggravated earlier this year during a ping-pong match. The procedure was performed on April 14 in Ohio and he’s expected to miss two months, meaning he will not play in the PGA Championship next month at Southern Hills outside Tulsa, Okla.
DeChambeau is ranked No. 18 in the Official World Golf Ranking and has only played six times this year. He opened the year with a 25th-place tie at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii, missed the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open then withdrew from the Saudi International. His last two starts are both missed cuts–at the Valero Texas Open and the Masters.
