2022 Memorial Tournament first- and second-round tee times

News

The Memorial is a tournament, and Muirfield Village a course, that typically brings with it a solid field. And that’s the case again this week as seven of the top 10 players in the world will tee it in Dublin, Ohio, including defending champ Patrick Cantlay. A year ago, Cantlay won in dramatic fashion, sinking an 11-foot par saver on the first playoff hole to best Collin Morikawa. It was the win that started Cantlay’s run toward the FedEx Cup title.

Jon Rahm will also return to Muirfield, where his 2021 memories are mixed. At the end of the third round a year ago, Rahm held a commanding six-shot lead after a Saturday 64 that might have been the best of his young but impressive career. He was then greeted by a PGA Tour official who told him he had tested positive for COVID, forcing him to withdraw from the tournament without the chance to close out the victory.

Along with Cantlay and Rahm, Morikawa will be back once again, as will Cam Smith, Viktor Hovland, Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth.

Five of the last eight Memorial Tournaments have ended in a playoff; and for the first time since 2019, attendance will be at full capacity. It’s going to be a fun one at the Golden Bear’s signature course.

The winner will receive 550 points and a $2.16 million share of the $12 million purse.
