2023 RBC Heritage tee times, TV coverage, viewer’s guide

News

The RBC Heritage has been a much appreciated event on the PGA Tour schedule for some years, falling the week after the Masters and providing an opportunity for top players coming from Augusta to make the 130-mile drive and decompress a bit out on Hilton Head Island, S.C. This year, however, the sleepy event at Harbour Town Golf Links isn’t quite as sleepy as it comes with the PGA Tour’s new “designated” status. And with that, the field is stocked with many of the tour’s best, including newly crowned Masters champion Jon Rahm, Players Championship winner Scottie Scheffler and defending RBC Heritage champ Jordan Spieth.

Indeed, seven of the top 10 players in the Official World Golf Ranking—and 38 of top 50—will be competing in South Carolina. So will 28 of the top 30 players in the FedExCup standings and 19 of the 20 players that have won on the PGA Tour this season. (Rory McIlroy and Will Zalatoris are the two more high profile names missing this week, Zalatoris withdrawing after undergoing back surgery that will leave him out for the rest of the season.)

A year ago, Spieth bested Patrick Cantlay at Harbour Town in a thrilling playoff, after shooting a final-round 66 to force the event’s leader to extra holes. Spieth made eagles on both par 5s on the front nine on Sunday and a birdie on No. 18 to get to 13 under and eventually claim his 13th PGA Tour win.

The winner will receive 500 FedEx Cup points and a $3.6 million share of the $20 million purse.

Golf Channel will carry live coverage on Thursday and Friday from 2-6 p.m. EDT. On Saturday and Sunday, Golf Channel will start the coverage from 1-3 p.m. with CBS taking over with afternoon coverage from 3-6 p.m.
